Position Description

McGladrey is looking for a Tax Manager to join our SALT practice in the Cedar Rapids Office.

In your role, you will be responsible for the following:

- Delivering profitable SALT services to clients while appropriately utilize firm and client resources
- Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
- Providing tax advice and consultation that enables clients to increase shareholder value
- Planning and coordinating the flow of information with clients
- Communicating findings and conclusions to clients
- Supervising, mentoring and developing staff members
- Managing various assignments and projects
- Reviewing work papers and tax returns
- Reviewing tax provisions on audit and review engagements
- Researching and resolving technical issues
- Participating in the billing and collection process
- Developing specialized SALT knowledge as a firm expert within the Manufacturing, Wholesale and Distribution, Government Contractor, Financial Services and Construction/Real Estate industries
- Recognizing opportunities for providing additional services to clients
- Marketing technical specialty and expertise to clients.

Basic Qualifications:

- BS Degree in Accounting
- CPA or CMI desired
- Ability to travel on a limited basis.
- In depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Minimum of 3-6 years experience providing state and local tax consulting services
- 2 years of sales tax project experience
